Monrovia– Senior sources in the Liberian Senate told FrontPageAfrica that President George Weah’s favorable choice for the post of Chief Justice is Justice Sie-A-Nyene Gyapay Yuoh. Justice Yuoh will succeed Chief Justice Francis Korpor, who is expected to retire in September. Judge Youh is the wife of Bomi County Senator Edwin Snowe.

Who is Yuo?
Yuoh was born in Montserrado County, Republic of Liberia. She graduated from high school and graduated from St. Theresa’s Convent, a Catholic high school in Monrovia in 1974 and enrolled at Cuttington University College (CUC), now Cuttington University (CU), in Suakoko, Bong County, pursuing her higher education where she graduated in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Political Science.
In 1979, Justice Yuoh enrolled at the Louis Arthur Grimes Law School at the University of Liberia, where she trained as a lawyer. In 1981, she successfully completed her law studies at this institution and obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and was later admitted to the National Bar Association of Liberia as a lawyer. Her Honor was also admitted to the Bar of the Supreme Court in 1988.
Associate Justice Sie-A-Nyene Gyapay Yuoh began her public and professional service in the Executive Branch of the Republic of Liberia, first in the Ministry of Justice as Deputy Minister of Legal Affairs from 1983 to 1985, in Ministry of Foreign Affairs as coordinator. , African Affairs, 1988 – 1990, the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) as Corporate Secretary/Deputy Legal Counsel/Secretary, Board of Governors of the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) from 2000 to 2003 and finally to the Commission of Law Reform, where she served as Acting Executive Director and Commissioner from July 2011 to April 2013, respectively.
Justice Yuoh also extended her professional legal services to the private sector where she was a partner and legal advisor at David AB Jallah Law Firm, Johnson Street, Monrovia Liberia, from 1994 to 2000.

Madam Justice Sie-A-Nyene G. His Honor, Judge Yuoh is married, and she and her husband have ten (10) children and two (2) grandchildren.
