Interior designer Petra Palumbo is banking on success with the fulfillment of a long-held ambition to open a flagship store in her home village of Beauly.

Located on the ground floor of the old bank building at the edge of the town square – the first stop for many on the North Coast 500 road route – the 2,200 square foot store was created as a flagship storefront for his own designs and has personally selected other items, whether antique, vintage or contemporary.

“It’s always been my dream to open a boutique,” said Petra.

“The opportunity to rent the space presented itself and I took it because I knew this type of building wouldn’t come knocking twice. I really wanted people to see and feel my products in person and associate my goods to one place, allowing them to fully experience my organized and colorful world.”

Beauly was an obvious choice for the boutique and the former bank provides a unique setting for Petra’s ever-changing homewares and fixtures, with the original 11 arched windows flooding the space with natural light to create a space of bright and welcoming retail that reflects the joyful and practical nature of his glassware designs.

“My family and I live in Beauly,” Petra continued.

“It’s a lovely bustling town with so much to offer. I feel so honored to be amongst such fantastic shopping and dining on the High Street.”

Designed as a one-stop-shop for gifts, upholstery and the latest handcrafted creations, Petra emphasizes environmentally friendly, high-quality products that are built to last, and sees its flagship store as an extension from his house.

His intention is for the shop to continually change to resemble different aspects of his life between the Scottish Highlands and London and the influences of his Lebanese ancestry.

The Petra Palumbo boutique in Beauly is open by appointment only on Mondays and Tuesdays and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday.
