The Boca Raton House of Representatives confirmed Sivon Tal as associate judge on August 26 at the first meeting of the fall 2022 semester.
The associate judges are responsible to hear matters based on student government operations on their respective campuses, including elections, SG policies and processes, and other areas. They also participate in the Hearing Panel on the Code of Conduct for Students as Hearings Officers.

“Everyone deserves a fair chance, and as an associate judge, I promise to provide that. I [will] serve my dedication to remaining impartial and doing the right thing,” said Tal, a senior political science major.
In her post-confirmation report, Chief Justice Benjamin Cohen said Tal would hold the position for two years, or until she graduates or resigns.
Cohen noted that the position remains vacant at the MacArthur campus in Jupiter.
“This nomination must be approved by a two-thirds majority vote of the MacArthur House of Representatives,” Cohen wrote. “If the position remains vacant for twenty business days, which is September 8, 2022, the student body president will be constitutionally required to make a temporary appointment to the position.”
