A designer joins the Growing Landscape Design Studio

We are a Bay Area based Landscape Design Studio looking for a Draftsman / Associate Designer to join our growing creative team. We have residential and commercial projects in the SF Bay area, the Los Angeles Basin, as well as Oregon, San Diego and the east. Our philosophy is based on the use of natural materials in their most raw form. We work directly with clients, architects, manufacturers, other designers and engineers to create forward-thinking sustainable landscapes from concept to completion. We are looking for a part time team member to join us.

Applicants should have excellent design ability that prioritizes material language for accurate transmission of our design thinking. Strong skills in site plan layout, construction details, lighting layout, plantation design and perspective rendering are required. Applicants should be well organized, motivated, self-sufficient, have strong communication skills, be able to solve problems and able to handle the unpredictable nature of a small office.

Responsibilities and qualifications:

• Strong sense of design / desire to evolve in a leadership role

• Proficiency in ACAD, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite

• Experience with Revit models, plans and construction details a huge advantage

• Quality control, editing of red lines and review of drawing sets

• Strong interest in softscape design and learning about native and drought tolerant plant palettes

• Search for materials / codes

• Basic mapping
