Ecologic Entomology Hires Operations Manager

Bob Leon

Ecologic Entomology, based in Boston, Mass., has hired Bob Leon, ACE, as operations manager.

Leon has over 30 years of experience in the pest control industry. He has held sales, service and management positions with national and local pest control companies.

He has developed Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs for multi-unit housing, pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, military installations and commercial properties. He also has experience developing rodent control plans for large construction projects and municipalities. Leon is an Associate Certified Entomologist (ACE) of the Entomological Society of America.

Leon has a long-standing involvement with the New England Pest Management Association (NEPMA) since 1994, where he has held numerous positions on the Board, including President. Leon is currently an advisor to the Board of Directors and chairs the Nominating Committee. He would be the longest serving member of NEPMA, according to a press release.

In 2014, Leon received the Bart Eldridge Award for his contributions and dedication to the association. He is chairman of the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources (MDAR) Pesticide Advisory Board, which makes recommendations to the Pesticide Board regarding rules and regulations pertaining to pesticide applications.

Outside of work, he is committed to giving back to his community. Leon coached youth hockey for 20 years, talked to elementary school students about beneficial and harmful insects, and provided free pest and termite control services to veterans through the Wounded Warrior Project.

He and his wife, Teresa, enjoy cooking, spending time at their summer home in Maine and have just welcomed their 10th grandchild.
