About the Music Manager Forum

The Music Managers Forum is the world’s largest professional community of music managers, representing 1250 members, from grassroots to managers representing the biggest bands on the planet and everything in between. We educate, innovate and advocate for our members. We are the founders of effective campaigns such as #LetTheMusicMove, FanFair Campaign against Secondary Ticketing and Dissecting the Digital Dollar, as well as initiatives such as our Accelerator music manager development program, the MMF Unite anti-racism event series and the Music Managers Guide to Mental Health.

The role

We are currently living in the most exciting time in the history of the Music Managers Forum as we approach our 30th anniversary. with membership growing by approximately 70% over the past few years, alongside the expansion of our programs, partnerships and events.

We are looking for a dynamic and ambitious Member Engagement and Education Manager to drive our member engagement, events and education program. This role will also increase educational opportunities for MMF members and increase revenue through associate memberships and educational partnerships to support member development and education. Seeking collaborations with universities and academic organizations interested in training and engaging with music managers.

This role will have a strong focus on creating strategies and opening doors for the professional development and continuing education of our members.

This position will require a highly organized creative thinker and relationship builder with experience building and maintaining relationships, exceptional account management skills and a willingness to host partner events. We are looking for a proactive, confident, diplomatic and clear communicator who anticipates with a strategic approach.

Experience in the music industry is desirable, but not essential. This may suit someone with an entrepreneurial spirit and an interest in education, development and partnerships. Member engagement and events
  • Lead and organize in-person and online events to achieve Educational Enterprise partnership deliverables and activations and design unique learning and networking opportunities for MMF members, such as the MMF Summit and Annual Meeting members.
  • Retain membership through customer service accountability and business engagement with managers, such as in MMF Education & Training sales, and engagement with MMF member resource and event benefits.
  • Work with instructional trainers to design programs, liaise with trainers on content, speakers and support delivery as needed.
  • Support the delivery of special projects (eg Accelerator, Tribes, etc.) with a focus on new members and national outreach. Assume responsibility for coordinating the overall calendar of events, with input from the wider MMF team.
  • Initiate and coordinate MMF activity at educational and industry conferences; with the goal of developing new relationships that will benefit the organization’s partnerships and new membership pipeline.
MMF Educational Associates
  • Proactively lead the account and relationship management of current Education Associates.
  • Lead the acquisition, negotiation and defined deliverables with new educational partnerships that deliver value and maximize revenue generation.
  • Work collaboratively with Associate Educators to add value through partnership activities outlined in the proposals, for example, masterclasses, research, events, student engagement, and new opportunities such as the MMF Educational Trailblazer Awards.
  • Manage the administrative processes involved in onboarding and maintaining Education Partners, Associate and Student Members coordinating billing and account activation.
  • Nurture relationships with potential partners and constantly seek to develop new relationships that will benefit the organization’s lead pipeline.

Skills and competences


  • 3+ years of experience in a similar or relevant role.
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to manage multiple high priority projects simultaneously and work well under pressure.
  • A track record in securing new business.
  • Experience in delivering events (online and in person).
  • Great attention to detail and excellent project management and communication skills.
  • A keen interest in music management, innovation in the music industry, and the educational and professional development sector.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to produce impactful membership/sponsorship proposal presentations, event marketing and relevant visual assets.
  • Experience in the music industry.
  • Existing relationships with potential partners at the level of budget holders and decision makers.
